ELLEN DUBIN STARRING
IN A NEW SERIES - THE COLLECTOR
Ellen Dubin has been contracted to
be a Series Lead in a new series filming in Vancouver, BC /
Lithuania called "The Collector". Her character,
"Jeri Slate", is a reporter for the Vancouver
Star, an investigative journalist who will stop at
nothing to get to the truth. Outside of work, "Jeri Slate" has the
challenge of raising an autistic child. Ellen will
commence filming in Vancouver late August or early
September.
We had been requested by the Collector's
publicist to wait for the official announcement before
releasing
this news. With the
following announcement, we are releasing our long overdue "What's New"
bulletin.
Information from a press release about the show
states: Set to shoot
in Vancouver from September 2003 to January 2004, The Collector is a
new TV Series for Space: The Imagination Station, produced by West
Coast No Equal Entertainment (Executive Producers: Diane Boehme &
Larry Sugar).
About The Show: Morgan Simm once a monk in the 14th Century fell in
love with a young woman who contracted the plague. Morgan would give
anything to have her live, and she does, for another ten years. But
his "pact with the Devil" results in him becoming a collector of
souls for eternity.
Jeri (ELLEN DUBIN), is a newspaper journalist trying to uncover
Morgan Simm's history. Her husband made a deal with the Devil when
they couldn't have kids and collects on it a minute before her son
Gabe is born. Jeri knows nothing about the pact and believes that
his autism came from a difficult birth. Gabe is actually connected
with the Devil who supervised his birth.

in the next few weeks. Also we can expect future announcements from the
producers about the show airing in the USA and other countries.
Storyline of the Series, The
Collector: " Throughout the world there are people who collect
souls for the Devil. People have sold their souls to him, perhaps unwittingly,
but their "good luck" has created an imbalance in the world. They have robbed
someone, somewhere, of their life. Perhaps if they could correct the mistake,
then maybe the Devil might consider not taking their soul. Morgan Simm, once a
monk in the 14th Century, fell in love with a young woman who contracted the
plague. Morgan would give anything to have her live, and she does, for another
ten years. But his "pact with the Devil" results in him becoming a collector of
souls for eternity. He is allowed to guide the individual to redemption but that
is all. Morgan Simm is a lonely man, forced to relive his fatal mistake every
time he must tell another individual that they have 24 hours to repent.

DYNAMITE:
Filmed in Preston, Idaho, USA.
DYNAMITE is based on Hess’ short film “Peluca” which was the
only short to be unanimously selected for the 2003 Slam Dance Film Festival.
It's the producers intent to submit this film to the Sundance Film
Festival.

DYNAMITE centres on a High School
kid, named Napoleon, who tries to make sense of life while growing up in an
extremely rural setting. Jon Gries (star of the Polish Brother’s films
“JACKPOT”) plays Uncle Rico, Napoleon’s bizarre and inattentive guardian,
whose shady business deals plague Napoleon’s social life.
Co-stars in the film include Diedrich Bader (Oswald on TV’s “THE DREW CAREY SHOW”) as Rex, a hopelessly uncoordinated martial arts instructor; Tina Majorino (Enola from “WATERWORLD”) as Napoleon’s nerdy friend Deb; Efren Ramirez (who has appeared in “KAZAAM” and “RAVE”) as Pedro, the new boy in school; Shawndrella Avery (a regular on the UPN sitcom “ONE ON ONE”) as LaFawnduh, an out of town heartthrob; Ellen Dubin (from the Sci-Fi Channel’s “LEXX”) as Ilene, a deranged soccer mom; and renowned female body builder Carmen Brady (1999 “overall winner” at the NPC Masters National Championships) as Starla, Rex’s loving wife.
Ellen's comedic cameo as the sweet perky housewife, Eileen, will sure to make her fans laugh. She enjoyed returning to comedy.
LIGHTNING PLANET
aka LIGHTNING BOLTS OF DESTRUCTION:
Meteorologist Valery Landis (JOANNA
PACULA) fears the worst when her hometown of Bell’s Point is assaulted by a
raging torrent of deadly lightning storms. Unable to convince her
superior, Chancellor Collins, of the seriousness of the growing threat, she soon
discovers that similar storms in the upper atmosphere are coalescing from Toyko
to Munich. Valery attempts to impress upon the tough-as-nails General
Fields (NICK Mancuso) of the Joint Chiefs that – if left unchecked – the
storms could lead to massive worldwide destruction. She feverishly works
in tandem with determined husband Mark, who is away on assignment in the North
Pole, and her prodigy son Jeremy, as they race to devise a solution to eradicate
the superstorm. Set against this stormy background is a family subplot
of Valery's sister Gail ( ELLEN DUBIN ) coming out of prison after
15 years to claim her biological son Jeremy who was adopted by Valery and Mark.
